Our American friend Peter Lund made it! He completed a circumnavigation of Lake victoria on his Bicycle for the benefit of PMKSFG!
By raising funds from his friends back home, Peter was able to fund his voyage, as well as contribute to the making of a documentary on the project. He and his film maker friends (who hail from Kampala University) traveled from Kampala to Tanzania, through Tanzania to Kenya, and through Kenya back to Kampala over five weeks.
Naturally the journey was quite an adventure. Many friends were made, some difficulties were had, but everyone came back in one piece. Peter was able to make many useful connections with professionals and helpful people on the way regarding the organization, who have expressed great interest in our work. We hope to recruit expertsfrom around the region to help us implement our community banking project!
Peter and PMKSFG would like to thank all the donors to this fund raiser, as well as our sponsors here in Uganda. Stay tuned for updates on the progress of the community bank!

One week remains before our volunteer and cyclist Peter Lund begins his long journey around Lake Victoria on his bicycle. We are bust looking for sponsors and donors in Uganda to help us make this project successful, and to raise initiation money for the Tweyambe Micro Save program.
We have found lots of local support for both the Ring Around Victoria project and the Tweyambe program. Two local radio stations, Kindom FM (93) and Tiger FM (102.5) have helped us with air time to talk about the organization and spread the word. SWICO insurance has pledged to donate 500,000 shillings to help. Kampala Cycling Club has tuned up Peter's bicycle and donated some useful parts, such as new tubes, to keep him rolling smoothly. we really appreciate the support! We hope to continue getting local companies and donors involved in our organization.

Last Saturday, June 9, we held our first pilot will writing workshop. We had 36 eager community members show up to the course, where we taught everything there is to know about wills: What goes in to a will, what are the legal complications with wills, and who should write a will.
Participants enjoyed the course and recieved a worksheet to help them develop their own will to help their family once they pass on. They also enjoyed snacks and sodas!
Nurture Africa funded and trained PMKSFG in the will writing course. Once they've reviewed our report, they will decide whether or not to continue providing us with this opportunity. Judging by their talk, we're in a good position to continue offering the course!
